Ward of the State
Today I had an eye exam. Right in the middle of the nurse dilating my eyes, I hear a little clanging. Like shackles. The Ghost of Christmas Past. Hilarious, I think. It couldn’t be. But, of course, it could. It was a ward of the state. In handcuffs. Complete with a prison guard. Apparently he was having his follow-up appointment to his Lasik surgery.
